One Month and 34 Songs Later

It’s been exactly one month since we launched a-comp-radio.com!

Thank you for listening, and thank you for your encouraging words of support.

Our goal here isn’t to create an online radio station for everyone, but rather to make something that a handful of people might really, really love. To date we’ve had 49 unique visitors and each new track is receiving at least 10 plays on the day it’s posted. Humble numbers, to be sure, but it’s exhilarating nonetheless.

I want to thank my brother, Alex, for curating the playlist and taking the notes he includes with each track to the next level. At first I viewed the blog as simply the repository for the music we’d stream on the station, but it’s quickly gaining an identity of its own.

I also want to thank those who’ve developed the tools that have made this site possible: Tumblr (blog), Streampad (audio streaming), Modwest (hosting), Blueprint (CSS framework), Mailchimp (email newsletter) and of course Twitter and Facebook for helping us get the word out.

Last, but most importantly, I want to thank the bands who’ve so far allowed us to play their music. We hope our promotion of your good work provides value to you and in some small way helps enable you to keep doing what you’re doing.

So here’s to month #2…we’ve got a lot planned, including a brand new streaming interface to support real playlists, a new site design, and a lot more great, new music.

Keep in the loop by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter or Tumblr, or signing up for our weekly newsletter (first issue out any day, I promise). Or just send us an email at admin@a-comp-radio.com. Oh, and tell your friends!

Take care!
